Community members came out Saturday, March 25, to celebrate agriculture at the Farmer's Market.
Vendors displayed fun farm facts to shed some light on how their product is produced. Nando's Honey Bee Farm brought an observation hive, which allowed people to see the inner workings of a beehive. But don't worry. The bees are closed in the hive while it is on display, so you are safe. We had a special visit from Ashley Hurst, a nutritionist who focuses on the science of food. Hurst operates a consultation service called Wellness By Design. She prepared a kale salad and green smoothie while answering questions about nutrition. March is also National Nutrition Month. For the Kale Salad recipe that everyone raved about, including the kiddos that "don't eat vegetables", click here.
