An Activity-Packed Spring Kickoff Weekend

Are you ready to welcome the spring season? You have three different opportunities to celebrate spring with us this weekend! On Saturday, February 25th during the Farmers Market, we’ll be hosting our Spring Season Kickoff. You’ll be able to shop local goods from our awesome vendors and join any (or all!) of the activities we have planned. All of our Spring Kickoff activities are free of charge and open to the public. Here’s the schedule of events:
9am-1pm - Visit with some of our goats and chickens at the Veggie Wagon
10-10:30am - Take a tour of the farm so you can see where all of our organic produce is grown
11am-12pm - Plant cilantro, dill, basil, parsley, and microgreen seeds in your own kitchen container garden
On Sunday, February 26th from 12-1pm, Farmer Nathan will be leading the next installment in our Seasonal Gardening Series. This class focuses on warm season plants that you can grow in your home garden throughout spring and early summer. We’ll be covering tomato planting and care since this is one of our most popular crops on the farm! You’ll also get plenty of hands-on planting experience during the class that can be applied in your garden. Immediately following Farmer Nathan’s class on Sunday, we’ll be leading our monthly Meet the Farm Tour at 1:30pm. These tours are a great way to experience how the farm transforms from season to season. On this tour, you’ll be able to see our newly planted tomato rows and taste some of our beautiful rainbow carrots! You’ll also be able to see how big our chickens have gotten and maybe feed the goats a leafy green snack. These tours are free of charge and open to the public.
