July 10th, 2025

Tomato season is winding down and as such, we’ve started the slow process of removing our tomato plants. We’ll keep our cherry tomatoes (below) in the tunnel a bit longer but we’ve already terminated our slicing tomatoes. A perk of this process is that we will have a limited amount of green tomatoes for you at the Farm Stand this Saturday! Green tomatoes are underripe tomatoes with a firmer texture and more acidic flavor similar to a tomatillo. These tomatoes are perfect for frying, making chutney, or “chow chow”, a Southern pickled relish. Make sure to snag some at the Farm Stand this weekend because they won’t be around for long!

Coming up on Saturday, July 26th at the Farmers Market, you’ll have the opportunity to cool off on a giant slip-n-slide! The Harvest Green Lifestyle Team will be turning up the fun and turning down the heat with a giant slip 'n slide and a cold tasty treat. This event is open to the public but Harvest Green residents will receive a free treat from Frozen in Paradise (non-residents are welcome to purchase their own). Once you’ve toweled off, we encourage you to browse all of the goods from our vendors and pick up some farm-fresh produce at the Farm Stand! You can find more details on this event here
