After a successful crop of watermelons have come and gone, we are excited to welcome Arava melons, Korean Melons, and soon Cantaloupe back to the menu! Surprisingly, the Armenian cucumbers pictured above are actually a type of muskmelon closely related to honeydew and cantaloupe, though they have the taste and crunch of a cucumber! In a season without lettuce, these melons and cucumbers are a great pair for a delicious and colorful summer salad. Simply toss with your favorite vinegar and oil and sprinkle with coarse salt!

Fresh bouquets from the farm are still available at the Farmers Market on Saturday's and sold through our weekly Vegetable Share program! This week our first trial of Lisianthus are blooming in beautiful pastel shades of purple, white, and pink. We will definitely be growing this variety again next year in hopes of earlier Springtime blooms!

Mark your calendars next weekend for summer fun at Village Farm from 9am - 12pm! Browse our selection of organic produce and local, handmade goodies while kids play on the giant water slide! While you're there, don't miss our Farm Tour at 10am where one of our very own farmers will take you on a journey from seed to harvest and a special visit to the animals!
