Here are the market dates for this month: Saturday, September 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th from 9am-12pm.
Here's what you can find at the Farm Stand this weekend: Sweet Italian Peppers, Jalapeno Peppers, Banana Peppers, Zucchini, Slicing Cucumbers, Long Beans, Bitter Melon, Korean Melon, Okra, Sweet Potato Greens, Sorrel (Roselle) Greens, Malabar Spinach, Basil, Thai Basil, Holy Basil, Oregano, and Garlic Chives.
Vendor of the Month: Raw Life Cold Pressed
Raw Life's organic cold-pressed juices are made using a Goodnature X1 hydraulic press, extracting the juice from a variety of fruits and vegetables. This method retains more vitamins and minerals which results in a fresher juice. All of their products are made in small batches with ingredients that are sourced either from local farms or what they grow themselves. Make sure to check them out at the Farmers Market this month or stop by their brick and mortar location at 7109 Katy-Gaston Road, Suite 100 in Richmond.
Crop of the Month: Roselle Greens
Roselle is a multi-use crop on the farm from summer through fall. It provides us with tangy leafy greens in the summer and tart, cranberry-flavored pods in the fall. The tart, lemony flavor of roselle leaves pairs well with our other summer crops. Roselle leaves can be enjoyed raw in salads or as part of a stir-fry or sauté.
