A passion to grow their own food and be part of a community who shares that interest is the spark that ignited Sam and Rachel's journey in Farm Club two years ago! Since that time, this couple has transformed their farm plot into an oasis of vibrant, healthy plants with an abundance of produce that feeds their family. Sam and Rachel have introduced new vegetable varieties like taro root, tindora cucumbers, and bush green yard long beans to the club that have proven to be highly productive in our Houston climate. They enjoy experimenting with new vegetable varieties in the kitchen and plan to trial elephant foot yam and purple yam this season!

Next Saturday, May 9th, marks our 4th Annual Mother's Day Bouquet Farmers Market! Hundreds of freshly harvested and organically grown flower stems will be available for participants to create their own unique bouquet. This day also marks World Migratory Bird Day and Village Farm is celebrating by hosting a Bird Walk around the farm from 10am - 11am! Farmer Nathan, a locally renowned expert birder, will be leading the walk and is sure participants will see a variety of beautiful feathered friends! A limited amount of binoculars will be provided so be sure to bring a pair if you have them!

There is no better time than the Spring season to try our Village Farm Vegetable Share - a weekly subscription of organic produce that is customizable to your preferences! All vegetables, fruits, and herbs included in our shares are grown at Village Farm and delivered to your doorstep (Harvest Green Residents) or dropped at two local drop-sites in the Richmond - Sugar Land area. Memberships can be put on hold to skip a delivery and are able to be cancelled at any time. Be sure to sign up soon as we are on the cusp of melon season - subscribers will enjoy a choice of watermelon, korean melon, cantaloupe, and arava melons!
