We invite you to join us for our monthly Farm Tour this Saturday, August 30th, from 10-11am! This is an exciting time on the farm as we’re preparing and planting for the fall season. During the tour, we will be highlighting some methods for preparing your own fall garden as well as outlining varieties we’ve been planting here on the farm. Attendees will also have the chance to meet our goats and chickens and learn about what’s currently being harvested. Our Farm Tours are open to the public and free of charge but spots are limited so we can provide the best experience possible. Make sure to sign up here if you would like to attend!

The crops we direct-seeded in the tunnel last week have already germinated and are looking great! This round of seeding includes radishes, arugula, Hakurei turnips, and a braising mix. All of these varieties are more tolerant of the warmer soil conditions throughout August and September and are typically the first fall veggies we’re able to offer. When arugula and radishes are grown during the early part of the fall season, they tend to take on more of a spicy kick which will be a welcome flavor paired with our late summer crops! We are especially looking forward to our annual Persian sandwich lunch in which we make sandwiches with the first harvest of radishes and arugula on the farm.
