Our week-long tomato celebration culminates with our annual La Tomatina Padre event this Saturday, June 14th, from 10am-noon! This event is exclusively for residents of Harvest Green and is the perfect way to kick off summer break. Kids of all ages and their families are invited to toss tomatoes at their fathers or father figures. After the last tomato has been thrown, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy light bites made with produce grown and harvested on the farm! This is a ticketed event for residents of Harvest Green only. One ticket per family is required and can be purchased here. We can’t wait to see you there!

We harvested over 500 pounds of watermelon this week which means we’ll have the first melons of the season for you this Saturday at the Farm Stand from 9am-noon! In years past we’ve had issues with coyotes eating our watermelon crop before we’re able to get to them so we are incredibly excited for such a bountiful harvest. These melons are consistently ripe and very sweet and juicy! We love to stick them in the fridge and enjoy chilled wedges as a super simple and refreshing summertime snack. Make sure to snag one at the Farm Stand this weekend!

We have something new at the Farm Stand this summer: fresh loofah. Also spelled “luffa”, this vegetable is a member of the Cucurbit family along with cucumbers and squashes. In the past we’ve grown and harvested it once matured and dried out for use as sponges but this year, we’re offering young loofah at the Farm Stand. Popular in several different Asian cuisines, loofah is similar in taste and texture to zucchini. We’ve been enjoying it in coconut milk based curries along with our peppers. Make sure to pick some up the next time you’re at the Farm Stand!
