Special Thanksgiving Farm Stand and Holiday Market Next Week!

November 21st, 2024

We will not have our regularly scheduled Farm Stand or Farmers Market this Saturday, November 23rd or next Saturday, November 30th due to the Thanksgiving holiday. In order to make sure you’re stocked up, we will be having a special Thanksgiving Farm Stand and Holiday Market at The Farmhouse (3400 Harvest Corner Drive) next Tuesday, November 24th, from 5-8pm! You’ll have the opportunity to snag some fresh local produce from the farm for your holiday meal while perusing goods like handmade candles, eggs, and bread from our local artisanal vendors. Since there will be a mix of food, craft, and product vendors, you might even be able to get a jumpstart on your holiday shopping! This market is open to the public so we would love to see you there.

While our Farmers Market will not be taking place this weekend we will still be hosting our monthly Farm Tour on Sunday, November 24th, from 1-2pm! The fall and winter seasons take a much different shape on the farm as the focus shifts from vining and large fruiting crops to more roots and leafy greens. During this month’s tour, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about why we grow the crops that we do during fall and winter in addition to sampling some of our carrots and the very first snow peas of the season. Our tours are open to the public and free of charge, we just ask that you sign up here if you plan on attending!

We might be deep in the fall season but that doesn’t mean we aren’t already looking ahead to spring! This week, we planted onion starts in anticipation for spring harvesting. These are what we call a “long day crop” as they require much more time in the ground before they mature to their ideal harvesting size. We planted them in the north field adjacent to our tunnels which we are activating as a new section for current and future long day crops such as Brussels sprouts, melons, and winter squashes. If you come to our Farm Tour on Sunday, you’ll be able to see this brand new section!
