As we enter into the summer season, we wanted to take a look back at some of our community events from the first half of this year. Throughout the year Village Farm becomes a common ground for the community to enjoy friendship, have fun, and grow together alongside the plants and animals of the farm. For families of Harvest Green and the surrounding community, the farm is a place where memories are made either around the dinner table while enjoying our fresh veggies and eggs, or on the farm landscape where imaginations and ideas have room to run wild.

Our new Friends of the Farm Membership Program is a low-commitment option to stay plugged into the farm community all year while enjoying seasonal perks and community events. Since our launch in May, Friends of the Farm have enjoyed picking up personal flower bouquets and a box of fresh tomatoes from the market! We are currently planning a U-Pick Fig Day for members in July and many more community activities, like our annual winter pizza night, for the upcoming Fall season!

Other ways to get involved at Village Farm include :

  • Vegetable Share - a weekly subscription to receive a box of fresh, organic produce sourced from Village Farm

  • Farm Club - a Harvest Green resident club where members can grow their own food and flowers in a farm plot with exclusive access to gardening materials and expertise from farmers on-site

  • Volunteering - weekly opportunities to assist farmers with harvesting and field tasks, email harvestgreen@agmenity.com for more information

  • Free Monthly Farm Tours - journey through the farm and experience what growing food is like year-round

These opportunities are not only a convenient way to enjoy the most fresh and flavorful food around, but are also enriching experiences for kids and families to encounter the beauty of nature and seasonal rhythms of agriculture!
