July 4th, 2026 This week our new flock of chickens surprised us with the first batch of eggs! These young hens are still maturing so the size of their eggs is quite small, as several can fit in the palm of a hand. The summer season is also a time of slower egg production as chickens redirect their energy from egg laying to cooling off their bodies.
