We’re ready to fire up the pizza oven and start slinging pies for our Wood Fired Pizza Night this Sunday, May 4th! We invite Harvest Green residents to join us on the farm from 5-8pm for some farm-to-table pizzas and a screening of Star Wars: Episode VII. Here’s our menu for the event: classic cheese, classic pepperoni, a veggie pie featuring tomatoes, basil, onion, and peppers from the farm, a supreme with all of the farm veggies plus pepperoni, and a white pie with farm zucchini and parmesan. The cost is $15 for one pizza or $25 for two. Pizza pick-up begins at 5pm and the movie begins at 5:30pm. For more details about this resident-only event and to purchase your tickets, head here.

The month of May brings two special events to our Farmers Market: D(herby) Day and Mother’s Day Flower Bouquets! This Saturday, May 3rd is our D(herb)y Day Market, a celebration of the Kentucky Derby and National Herb Day. You can snap some photos with a pony starting at 10am and enjoying a refreshing mint julep mocktail while supplies last. While you’re there, make sure to pick up some herb transplants like basil, chamomile, and lavender from the Farm Stand for your home garden! This event is free to attend and takes place during our Farmers Market from 9am-1pm this Saturday, May 3rd.

On the following Saturday, May 10th, our annual Mother’s Day Bouquet Making event will be taking place during the Farmers Market from 9am-1pm. You’ll have the opportunity to craft your own bouquet to share with the special mothers in your life with vibrant flowers grown on Village Farm. We have several different varieties and colors of flowers so you can make your bouquet as unique as possible. Each bouquet costs $30 (or $24 if you’re a Harvest Green resident) and comes finished with paper wrapping a ribbon bow. This event will begin at 9am and last until our flower supply is gone so we recommend getting there early! No pre-registration is required and this event is open to the public.

In case you missed the announcement last week, our Vegetable Share Program is entering a new season! This program is perfect for those who want to enjoy our organic produce without a trip to the Farm Stand every Saturday as well as those looking to add more veggies to their plate. Curious what a typical share looks like this week? Check it out above! Harvest Green residents receive a discount on their share along with free home delivery on Thursdays. We also offer public shares that can be picked up on Tuesdays at the Harvest Green Farmhouse or at our Commonwealth Drop Site. If you’re interested in adding more organic produce to your plate, feel free to email us at HarvestGreen@Agmenity.com with any questions or simply sign up for your Vegetable Share here!
