Happy April! Here are the market dates for this month: Saturday, April 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th from 9am-1pm.

Here's what you can find at the Farm Stand this weekend: Zucchini, Patty Pan Squash, Carrots, Beets, Arugula, Butterhead Lettuce, Romaine Lettuce, Iceberg Lettuce, Kale, Collards, Chard, Spring Onions, Celery, Chicory Greens, Fennel, Broccolini, Kohlrabi, Cabbage, Basil, Dill, Parsley, and Cilantro

Earth Day Market

Earth Day is coming up on the 22nd of this month and there’s no better place to celebrate it than Village Farm! We invite you to join us for our annual Earth Day Market on Saturday, April 20th, from 9am-1pm. Help beautify the farm’s habitat by participating in the Oyster Creek cleanup, visit with our resident goats and chickens, and plant some seedlings for spring. The Oyster Creek cleanup begins at 10am but all of the other activities can be attended at any point during the event.

Crop of the Month: Summer Squashes

Summer squashes just made their way into season! This month, you'll be able to find patty pan, zucchini, and yellow zucchini at the Farm Stand. Each of these squashes is tender, nutty, and mildly sweet and can be used interchangeably in your favorite recipes. Here are a few recipes to lend some culinary inspiration: 

• Polenta with Caramelized Leeks, Zucchini, and Peas

• Zucchini Fritters

• Stuffed Summer Squash with Dill and Feta

• Baked Patty Pan Squash Parmesan

• Yellow Zucchini and Cucumber Carpaccio

Vendor of the Month: Victory Point Roastery

Meet one of our newest vendors, Victory Point Roastery! Victory Point is a micro coffee roastery located here in Richmond, Texas. They specialize in small-batch, versatile roasts using beans from around the world. As a small family-owned business, they understand the value of a good cup of coffee shared with the community. This is what drives them, and they strive to bring this ethos to each and every roast they produce. Make sure to pick up some of their coffee beans at the market this month!
