Potting Up Tomatoes and Spring Gardening Class on the 25th

February 1st, 2024

After spending about a month in their plug trays it’s time to up-pot our tomatoes! All of our tomatoes were potted up into larger 4-inch containers this week in order to give their roots more space to develop over the next month until they are transplanted. Our goal is to transplant some of our tomatoes into the tunnel at the end of February and our field tomatoes during the first week of March. We will be offering our extra tomato transplants for sale at the Farm Stand in March so keep an eye out for that announcement if you would like some for your garden!

Did you know that activities like potting up tomatoes, seasonal seeding parties, and pizza nights are all included in our Farm Club membership? If you’re a current Harvest Green resident and are interested in deepening your connection with the farm, we encourage you to come to our Farm Club Open House on Tuesday, February 13th at 6:30pm in the Farmhouse Event Hall. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with current members and learn about all of the resources and social opportunities that are included in the membership. Every family that attends will receive a free Vegetable Share and will be entered into a raffle for a free month’s worth of shares. We hope to see you there!

If you’re not able to join Farm Club but are still interested in learning more about gardening, we encourage you to come to our Spring Gardening Class on Sunday, February 25th from 2-3pm. This class is geared towards the spring planting season and is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned gardeners. We’ll discuss what to plant and when in addition to the best way to utilize your gardening space. There will also be a hands-on planting demonstration to ensure you can employ the perfect technique in your own garden. This class is open to the public. You can secure your spot by sending us an email at HarvestGreen@Agmenity.com .
