Here are the market dates for the month of March: Saturday March 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th from 9am-1pm
And here's what we have in season at the Farm Stand this week: Rainbow Carrots, Hakurei Turnips, Romaine Lettuce, Red Butterhead Lettuce, Kale, Collard Greens, Mustard Greens, Tatsoi, Radicchio, Scallions, Swiss Chard, Cilantro, Parsley, and Dill.
Events This Month
Throughout the month we'll be selling transplants at the veggie wagon that you can plant in your home garden! Our transplants are organic and cost $8 each. Here's what we'll have: tomatoes, summer squash, zucchini, peppers, eggplant, and various herbs. Please note that the plant varieties will change from week to week and are available while supplies last.
Vendor of the Month
Meet the folks behind TX Farmhouse Beef! They started their business as a way to share their five generations of farming heritage. Part time suburbanites, this family of five has found continuous joy and energy in the beautiful open pastures that allow them to connect to nature. TX Farmhouse Beef was born after they fell in love with the piney woods, agriculture and even more so, with their "udderly" amazing East Texas cattle.
TX Farmhouse Beef offers 100% grass-fed beef products. You can catch them in person at the market on March 25th. Or, you can place an order with them at any time for home delivery or pickup! Here's a link to their online shop.
Veggie of the Month
Swiss chard just made it's way back into season last week! Chard has soft leaves and crunchy stems that are packed with Vitamins K, A, and C. The taste of chard is a little earthy like beet greens and vegetal like spinach. You can enjoy chard both raw and cooked. We highly recommend picking up a bunch from the veggie wagon this month! Here are a few recipes to lend some culinary inspiration:
