This week we are celebrating National Community Supported Agriculture week - a time to get connected with your local farm and explore options for sourcing fresh food for your family. Village Farm is gearing up for the Spring Season Vegetable Share, in which members will receive a variety of 6-8 different vegetables, fruits, and herbs each week. Harvest Green residents qualify for free produce delivery to your doorstep, while the broader public community members pick-up Veggie Shares at the Harvest Green Farmhouse. Produce items are harvested the day of delivery or pick-up, making them hyper-fresh and nutrient dense. If you’re interested in signing up or learning more visit our Veggie Share page here!

If you’re already a gardening guru and would like to level-up your skills, Farmer Nathan is here to help with his annual Spring Gardening Class on Sunday, March 1st! This is a chance to get into the weeds of gardening and ask Farmer Nathan any questions you may have about Spring growing. Participants will learn how to prepare backyard gardening beds for new plants, which vegetable varieties grow best in our Houston climate, and plant care techniques that Village Farm has found successful. In addition, participants can also take home a potted veggie plant which can be transferred to their own gardening space!

Our monthly Farm Tour is also coming up next Saturday, February 28th, which is a great way to get introduced to Village Farm or just meander through a charming landscape of plants and animals! The farm is in a beautiful state of transition as many Winter crops are being harvested, while more Spring plants are added each week. Be sure to stop by our Farmers Market to pick up staples like cabbage and salad mix while they are still in season!

Currently in Season: Spinach, Cabbage, Salad Mix, Lettuce, Cilantro, Dill, Parsley, Carrots, Fennel, Kohlrabi, Scallions, Spring Onions, Celery, Kale, Chard, Collards, Radishes, Arugula, and Daikon Radishes
