May Farmers Markets


May is an abundant month on the farm as we see an incredibly diverse lineup of veggies, herbs, and flowers making their way to the Farm Stand. Tomatoes and cucumbers have just made their way back into season and we're offering beautiful cut flower bouquets from our flower patch!


Here are the market dates for the month of May: Saturday May 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th from 9am-1pm.


Here's what we have in season at the Farm Stand this week: Cherry Tomatoes (limited), Green Beans, Zucchini, Patty Pan Squash, Cucumbers, Fennel, Radishes, Carrots, Leeks, Onions, Celeriac, Kohlrabi, Arugula, Lettuce, Cabbage, Collards, Rainbow Chard, Kale, Assorted Herbs, Edible Flowers, and Flower Bouquets.

Events this Month

Mother's Day Bouquets on May 13th from 9am-noon

Looking for a special gift for Mother’s Day this year? Visit us at the Farmers Market to create a beautiful, handmade Mother’s Day Bouquet with fresh flowers and foliage harvested on the farm! All bouquet materials will be provided. This event takes place during the market and is open to the public. Each bouquet costs $20.

Tomato Tasting and Cooking Demo on May 20th from 10am-noon

Tomato season is officially here! Swing by the Farmers Market to sample the different tomato varieties growing at the Village Farm this spring and enjoy a cooking demonstration with samples featuring in-season vegetables fresh from the farm. This event takes place during the market and is open to the public and free of charge.

Wild About Summer on May 27th from 10am-1pm

Hosted by the Harvest Green Lifestyle Team, this event is the perfect way to start the summer season! From 10am to 1pm, you can meet a variety of furry and scaly creatures, including friendly farm animals and fascinating reptiles. You'll have the chance to get up close and personal with them, learn about their habitats and behaviors, and maybe even pet them if you're feeling brave! This event is open to the public.

Vendor of the Month

Meet one of our newest vendors, K&M Gourmet Dog Food! Their goal is to bridge the gap in the dog food industry. They are committed to providing dogs with human grade food that can be mixed with kibbles to ensure freshness and added nutrition. If you're a dog owner, make sure to check them out at the market this Saturday!

Veggie of the Month

Cucumbers

Cucumbers are back in season! We have three different varieties for you at the Farm Stand: a standard slicer, a small pickling variety, and a miniature snacking variety with smooth skin. Cucumbers are an incredibly refreshing veggie due to their high water content. They are great for adding to salads, burgers, juices, or making a batch of pickles. Our personal favorite is the BCT: a bacon, cucumber, and tomato sandwich! Here are a few other cucumber recipes to lend some culinary inspiration:
